Dolphin Bay Drive House

Completed in late 2012

This project involved designing a new residence on a challenging site in Sunshine Beach

The block approximately 750 sm has an irregular shape with site / front and back boundaries at angles to each other and with a 4.5 m fall from the Noosa National Park on the back boundary to the street frontage

The block also has a dry creek bed running across one side

The Client brief was to design a residence incorporating two bedrooms / two bathrooms with a living / dining / kitchen / laundry / double garage with large store room and a 65 sm art studio

The design language was to be a balance of contemporary & sculptural elements yet tread softly on the environment

The design reflects the topography of the site being split level and almost hovers over the sand
The roof structure is bold and seamlessly suspended above the floor levels

The pools acid yellow wall adds a sense of both drama and humor the architecture language
